Cookie Policy

Last updated: 24 June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Tudor Trust (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://tudortrust.org.uk/ (the “website”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

This website has been built to use as few cookies as possible. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking cookies. The only non-essential cookies that may be set are those placed by third-party video providers, and only if you actively choose to load a video. As a result, you will not normally see a cookie consent banner on this site.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve performance, and to give information to site owners. Similar technologies — such as local storage and pixels — can store or read information on your device in comparable ways. Where we refer to “cookies” in this policy, we mean cookies and these similar technologies.

Cookies can be:

Session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

First-party cookies, set by this website, or third-party cookies, set by another organisation whose content appears on a page.

The law and your consent

Under the UK’s Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, we may place strictly necessary cookies without your consent, but we must obtain your consent before placing any non-essential cookie (for example, analytics, advertising, or third-party content cookies).

Because this website uses no analytics or advertising cookies, and loads third-party content such as videos only when you ask it to, no consent banner is required for normal browsing. Where a non-essential cookie may be set — for example, when you click to load an embedded video — the act of loading that content provides your consent, and you are told this before you proceed.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies

These are essential for the website to function and to keep it secure. They do not track you or store information about you for marketing purposes, and they cannot be switched off.

Cookie / technology Provider Purpose Type Duration

Form security token [website domain] (Fluent Forms) Protects contact and sign-up forms against spam and cross-site request forgery First-party Session

Cloudflare Turnstile Cloudflare Confirms form submissions come from a real person and blocks automated spam, without tracking you across sites Third-party (security) Session / short-lived

__cf_bm (only if the site is served via Cloudflare) Cloudflare Bot management and security for the website Third-party (security) ~30 minutes

Our spam protection uses Cloudflare Turnstile together with a hidden “honeypot” field and server-side token checks. The honeypot and token methods do not set any cookies. Turnstile is designed to be privacy-preserving and does not track you across other websites.

Analytics — no cookies used

We measure website traffic using Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect or store any personal data, and does not track you across websites or devices. All statistics are collected anonymously and in aggregate, so no consent is required.

Forms and newsletter — no tracking cookies

Our contact and sign-up forms run on our own website (Fluent Forms). Submitting a form sends your details to us, and — for newsletter sign-ups — to our email provider Brevo, so we can respond to you or send the communications you have asked for. Newsletter sign-ups use a double opt-in: you confirm your subscription by clicking a link in an email we send you.

This processing of your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. These forms do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and Brevo is contacted by our server only — it does not load any tracking script in your browser.

Third-party video content

Some pages include videos hosted by [YouTube / Vimeo]. To protect your privacy, these videos are not loaded when the page opens. Instead, you see a preview image with a short notice. The video — and the third-party cookies and local storage that come with it — is only loaded if you choose to click play.

If you load a video, [YouTube, operated by Google] may set cookies and store information in your browser’s local storage to deliver and measure the video. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) to reduce this, but we do not control these cookies. The typical items set after you choose to play a video are:

Cookie / storage Provider Purpose Type Duration

VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE YouTube / Google Estimates your bandwidth and remembers video preferences Third-party ~6 months

YSC YouTube / Google Records views of embedded videos within a session Third-party Session

yt-remote-device-id, yt-remote-connected-devices YouTube / Google Stores video player preferences Third-party (local storage) Persistent

The exact items set are determined by Google and may change. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Marketing and advertising — none

We do not use any marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to track you across other websites through this site.

How to manage cookies

Because no non-essential cookies are set unless you choose to load third-party content, you are in control by default. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to notify you when a cookie is placed. Guidance for the main browsers:

Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

Apple Safari

Microsoft Edge

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of the website work.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
